College and Career Counseling
Taking the Next Step
Our College and Career Counseling program prepares students for success on the postsecondary path of their choosing.
Students work closely with a counselor who knows their passions, strengths and goals so that they can make the best decision for the next step in their life after graduating from Girard. Families are guided every step of the way through the college application process, including applying for scholarships and financial aid. By considering “right fit” institutions as well as affordability, value, and extent of support services, we ensure students have the right tools to persist in their postsecondary endeavors to completion.
Road Maps for Success
The College Success Road Maps provide a step-by-step guide for students and families in 11th and 12th grade. They include checklists for completing advising sessions, practicing for standardized tests, and key dates in the college application process.
Resources
Students and families are encouraged to explore these credible and outcome-based resources as they navigate the college application process. Each will help bring your search into clear focus.
